One Killed, Three Injured in Head-On Crash in Silverado

SILVERADO, CA — A deadly head-on collision in Silverado left one driver dead and three others injured, including a child, on Thursday afternoon.

The crash occurred around 1:15 p.m. at the intersection of Santiago Canyon Road and Silverado Canyon Road, according to the California Highway Patrol.

Investigators say the driver of a southbound vehicle crossed into oncoming traffic for unknown reasons, colliding head-on with a northbound car. A second northbound vehicle was also involved in the crash.

One of the northbound drivers was pronounced dead at the scene. Two adults and a child were rushed to a nearby hospital for treatment, CHP Officer Fernando Perez confirmed.

The cause of the crash remains under investigation.
