One person is dead as the result of a stolen U-Haul truck that led police on a wild early morning chase through San Clemente in Orange County.
The chase started at 8 AM, when police attempted to pull over a U-Haul truck. The driver did not stop, and sped away. Police caught up to it near Ola Vista and Granada in San Clemente, where the truck rammed a car full of people.
According to the OCPD, One person from the car was pronounced dead on scene, while others were hospitalized. Two people exited the U-Haul and attempted to flee on foot, but were caught soon afterwards and taken into custody.
Their identities are not available at this time, and residents at the time were encouraged by authorities to avoid the area. No more information was available at this time.
