A woman was killed early Friday morning after being struck by two vehicles while crossing a roadway in Santa Ana, according to local authorities.
The incident occurred around 5:34 a.m. on Main Street between Dyer Road and Alton Avenue. Police say the woman entered traffic and was first hit by a vehicle whose driver stopped immediately and remained at the scene to provide assistance.
Moments later, a second vehicle struck the woman. That driver did not stop and fled the area, police said.
The pedestrian was pronounced dead at the scene. Her identity and age have not yet been released.
The Santa Ana Police Department is continuing to investigate the collision and the hit-and-run driver involved in the second impact.
