On Tuesday evening, June 24, at approximately 8:22 p.m., a serious traffic collision occurred near the intersection of Trabuco Road and Via Victoria in Mission Viejo. The crash involved a motorcycle and a Ford Explorer SUV.
Emergency responders arrived on scene to find the motorcyclist, identified as 32-year-old Anthony Balsamo of Mission Viejo, suffering from severe injuries. He was transported to a nearby hospital but sadly succumbed to his injuries.
The driver of the Ford Explorer, 62-year-old Deborah Webb, also a Mission Viejo resident, was arrested at the scene on suspicion of driving under the influence. Authorities have confirmed the incident is being investigated as a possible DUI-related fatality.
