A five-car crash on the 15 Freeway in Jurupa Valley early Saturday morning left a 70-year-old Yorba Linda woman dead and resulted in two drivers being arrested on suspicion of DUI, according to the California Highway Patrol. The collision was reported around 3:40 a.m. on Aug. 30, just north of Limonite Avenue.
The victim, identified as Cynthia Weymans, was pronounced dead at the scene by the Riverside County Coroner’s Office. CHP officials said the chain-reaction crash involved multiple vehicles, with alcohol suspected to be a factor for at least two of the drivers.
Both suspected impaired drivers were taken into custody as the investigation continues. Authorities have not released additional details about the suspects or the circumstances leading up to the crash.
