Barbora Kabatova was riding a bicycle in the morning on July 11th when a crash occurred with an automobile, killing the biker. The crash happened at 9:43 a.m. near the on-ramp of the San Diego 405 Freeway at Jeffrey Road. Barbora was rushed to the hospital where she was pronounced dead.
Authorities are investigating the circumstances of the collision. They have yet to determine if factors such as speeding, distracted driving, or if alcohol or drugs contributed to the fatal accident. Depending on the results of the investigation, the family of the victim may be eligible to compensation for her medical and funeral bills, in addition to loss of love and companionship, pain and suffering, and emotional trauma. The driver could be found guilty of wrongful death if they are found to be wrongful or negligent, which lead to Ms. Kabatova’s death.
