HUNTINGTON BEACH, CA — A 58-year-old man died Sunday evening after being struck by a vehicle in Huntington Beach, according to police.
Officers responded around 6:30 p.m. on Feb. 22 to reports of a collision involving a pedestrian and a white Toyota Camry near Beach Boulevard and Williams Drive.
When officers arrived, they located the pedestrian unconscious in the roadway. He was transported to a nearby hospital, where he was later pronounced deceased. Authorities have not yet released his identity.
Investigators reported that the vehicle, driven by a 68-year-old Huntington Beach resident, was traveling southbound on Beach Boulevard when it struck the pedestrian north of the Williams Drive intersection.
The driver remained at the scene and cooperated with law enforcement. Police indicated that impairment is not believed to have been a factor in the collision.
