According to the CHP officers log, about 9:50pm Tuesday night in Irvine a vehicle traveling in the northbound lanes on Highway 405 struck a sign and came to rest on top of the center divider of the freeway. After emergency workers arrived on the scene, they realized there wasn’t anything that they could do for the two occupants of the vehicle. Both were pronounced dead and the coroner called moments later. Officials didn’t discuss the details leading up to the accident due to the on going investigation.
