At Least Two Dead, Several Injured in San Diego Plane Crash

A tragic plane crash early Thursday morning in a San Diego neighborhood has left at least two people dead and eight others injured. The Cessna 550 aircraft went down around 3:45 a.m. near Murphy Canyon, causing multiple fires and forcing evacuations.

Authorities reported that the crash damaged at least 10 homes, destroyed one, and set several vehicles ablaze. Thick fog may have contributed to the incident, which occurred near Montgomery-Gibbs Executive Airport.

Emergency crews responded quickly, with over 100 firefighters battling the flames. About 100 residents were evacuated, and a temporary shelter was set up at Miller Elementary School. Several streets and schools in the area were closed for safety. The FAA and National Transportation Safety Board are investigating the cause of the crash.
